    Birdguides new system

As I understand the current situation, the iphone app is currently unavailable with no indication from birdguides as to how long it will be down for. So, currently paying for a service I cannot access.

    Edgbaston Pool

Two images of the geese in question, the first taken at Edgbaston Pool, the second at the Vale lake.

    Edgbaston Pool

The (Feral) Barnacle Geese flock, circa 16 individuals, has been based at the Vale lake for the past 15 years at least, to my knowledge. The Vale lake is adjacent to Edgbaston Pool, being situated on the other side of the Edgbaston Park Road. The geese frequently commute between both bodies of...

    Upton Warren

Kept a good distance, at least for the three hours I was there this morning, the weather wasn't playing ball either but a great bird to see, congrats to the finder. A first for Upton Warren (and me!) No decent images but I thought it was interesting to see the Baird's alongside the more...

I know the Phragmities problem at the flashes has been an ongoing issue for some time, but as a thought, we have, here, at the University of Birmingham been trialing this method of weed erradication for some time, with fairly positive results. It may be that the Trust are already aware of it...

    Withymoor - Amblecote, Stourbridge.....

Would you believe it... I picked up a copy of that very book (and subsequently put it back down:brains:) at Studley car boot last Sunday! I bet the bloke only wanted 10p or some such for it. Never associated Ian Wallace with that Ian Wallace.:C

Nice to see the latest Trust magazine giving UW a bit of coverage by highlighting continued sterling work by the volunteers. There's some dodgy looking geezers in the accompanying pic though.;):t:

    RSPB Middleton Lakes

Two record shots from Saturday, the distance, combined with the heat haze were never going to produce great results. That's my excuse anyway. Great to see it though.
