Kowa BD II XD 10x42 First Impressions then birder Review

Lovely review, thanks! I purchased the BD II XD 8x32 a few weeks back and had the exact same issue with my strap. After reading your last comment I contacted support last night and within 10 hours they replied that they had sent a new strap to me, free of charge. So I can also vouch for good...

    A short Kowa story

Interesting theory, I need to test it the next time I go to the camera & binocular store. Thanks for mentioning that angle of my problem. Roughly I'd say my left eye's pupil is stuck at around 7 mm and my left eye at a constant 5 mm. The second part of the equation is that they're not...

    A short Kowa story

Thanks! I had actually ruled out the 8x32 from my shopping list when I went to the store due to the exit pupil & eye relief for my glasses but somehow they just nailed it anyways for me personally. The 6.5x32 looks really sweet too, once I stop working from home and have to bike to work I might...

    What’s your preferred cleaning method?

I'm not an experienced binocular cleaner but so far I've used the same steps & tools that I've used for my camera lenses the last decade: 1. Start with an air blower to remove dirt & larger particles 2. Use my old Lenspen to first brush of smaller particles and then the opposite side to remove...

I'd of course need to have some intensive bino brand training with her ;)

After some googling I might just add this to my collection as a dog decoy.

    A short Kowa story

Went into the city this weekend to look into a new smaller binocular for birding, hiking and walking my dog. I do have an reasonably old Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 which I like but I really wanted something smaller. Anyways, I had my eyes set on either the Hawke Endurance ED 8x32 or Opticron 8x32...

Advice needed on binoculars for 7 year old

I have not purchased a binocular for my 10 year old son yet but while researching, besides the one Vespobuteo mentioned above which looks like a perfect match, I also put this one among the candidates: Pentax Papilio II 6.5x21 It has a smaller exit pupil than the Opticron but you get an...

They're majestic, and her calf was really cute but I never got a good opportunity to get a shot of it. Made for an interesting evening!

    Unexpected visitor

Had a friendly visitor just a few minutes ago, she and her calf enjoyed an apple feast in my neighbour's garden before taking a well deserved nap on their lawn.

    A humble dove

Underexposed photo taken midday in Gothenburg Sweden at a restaurant. The dove was peaking at our food by the railing, went for an extremely fast shutter speed to dim the darker background and highlight this beauty.
