    UK flycatcher ID

This female-type Ficedula flycatcher was in Bucks today: http://www.goingbirding.co.uk/bucks/show_photo.asp?photo_id=3038 There's rather a lot of white at the base of the primaries... Is this beyond the range of Pied??

    Slender-billed Curlew.

Trust me, if you weren't involved at the time, you don't want to know... Alternatively, there's a link to another BF thread in an earlier post in this thread where you can read all the lovely details. If you have a spare weekend.

    Taman Negara, Fraser's Hill etc JAN/FEB 2013

Don't forget to factor in a night or two at The Gap on the way up to Fraser's Hill for some slightly lower altitude species not found up at Fraser's Hill (assuming it is still open, it was 12 years ago I went!). Great places and great birding. Don

    Unknown birds, Germany near Stuttgart

The first bird is indeed a Common/Eurasian Teal. The second is more difficult due to the red line on the photo. I've absolutely no idea what it is a ring around, but the only bird I can see in the photo is at the top of the red ring, looking left, it's head just to the left of where the red...

    Mallorca 2012

At the weekend I had nice views of a singing male Moltoni's Warbler at Cuber Res. Walking round the res dam side first, the bird was almost at the far point before you turn back towards the car park, singing in scrub to the left of the path. Far few birders seem to take the track up the valley...

    Bird Journal 2.3 Review

Couple of questions, if I may? I've read the system doesn't cope with faunal zones - is this correct? Don't like the idea of not having a WP list... Secondly, if the mobile version only for the UK with a BOU checklist, or if you've got the desktop version is it global? Want to take it to Oz...

BTW, our hoaxer is back, this time as @tilermarks. Please, let's all just ignore him and hope he goes away...

    Eyebrowed Thrush in Norolk

Or, maybe, we should acknowledge birders based on their field skills, contribution to scientific learning and conservation efforts, rather than how much time and effort they've wasted burning fossil fuels chasing round the country? Just a thought

Ah Gary, this genius. I've worked out my own British list, and if you include all the birds I just couldn't be arsed to go for, I'd defo be on 531. Likewise, I'm really excited about my 2011 year list of 374 that I could have got, but basically just haven't.
