    Welcome to the forum. Don't know what bird you heard but your description reminded me what I thought was a sqeaky rusty cloths line was a Blue jay. I was so surprised that such a sound was made by a bird.

    Bird Bird Small Feeder

    Birds kept hitting one large window in my home because it reflects the sky and trees so I was just wondering if window feeders are safe for birds. I put up parachute cords which did help a lot but the only way I was able to stop birds striking the window completely is to keep the drapes closed.

    That's a tough one, I like chickadees but I would probably say the American goldfinch because they just seem to brighten up the yard whenever I spot them
