    Birding Apps for Android

PS Things might have changed. For instance, I've found that I can see this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/life/Eurasian_Oystercatcher#p00cdlxr I'll investigate about it - in any case, please share your thoughts about the usefulness of the possible integration in blueBill Mobile.

    Birding Apps for Android

I have a question for UK users. About one year ago I did some work to integrate blueBill Mobile with the Nature Finder of BBC. The Nature Finder is a database related (also) to bird species (indeed, only the most common birds) providing some basic fact sheet about the bird and links to news and...

    Birding Apps for Android

In the past I made plans but they worked for a few months and failed for the whole Fall and Winter. So it's better that I don't plan :-) In any case, in August I take almost a whole month of vacations... in the worst case, it should be ready for that month.

Yes. The feature can be already tried in the unofficial versions. Currently it is likely to make less capable smartphone to quickly run out of memory. The feature is being worked on. I've added a link at the bottom of the download page: http://bluebill.tidalwave.it/mobile/download/ It leads...

    Birding Apps for Android

I've had some bad times... but I've slowly recovering. Some severe troubles with the neck and the back, and this impacted on many aspects of my life, including my job, blueBill and birdwatching (carrying long lenses has started to be a pain). I can tell you that there is a new download...

    Birding Apps for Android

It took still some time to recover, but since the past week I've resumed working on blueBill mobile. Sorry for not having answered here, but I'm not getting the email notifications that new posts are here. Regarding the crashes, I'm investigating. I don't know what happens just after the...

    Birding Apps for Android

As you can see, 0.16 is in delay. There are no technical problems, but I've caught a virus three weeks ago that doesn't want to go away, and I've been barely able to deal with my regular job. Stay tuned.

    Birding Apps for Android

Generally speaking, I'm supporting all the devices from the Android standard, since version 1.5 (indeed, low-res screens came with more recent models). There was a problem with them up to a couple of months ago, it was reported and I fixed it. The next release (coming in days) supports photos...

It is possible to export as plain text or KML and send it by email (in function of the software installed on the phone, it is also possible to export the text directly to things such as notepad applications on the phone). Just press the "Preferences" button on the phone while in the observation...

    Birding Apps for Android

Dear all, I can announce that the next release of blueBill Mobile, due for the end of the month, will include textual fact sheets and photos. You can preview how it will look like here: http://bluebill.tidalwave.it/mobile/blog/?c=904 Given the number of new features, also the bag of things...

Great. Thanks for your patience. :-) The correction will be part of the next release within a week, as soon a few other additional features are ready.

    Birding Apps for Android

Ok, I've replaced the file - the new one is at http://kenai.com/downloads/bluebill/Snapshots/bluebill-mobile-android-0.15-SNAPSHOT.6089ab8fb22b.apk. I've tried to install it myself with success. I followed the following procedure: 1. With my laptop I clicked on this link to get a QRCode for...

    Birding Apps for Android

Yes, in Europe the "Kingfisher" is actually "Common Kingfisher", and the "Cormorant" is "Great Cormorant". Other typical first words are "African", "American", "Eurasian", "European". I appreciate the feedback because I've finally understood the meaning of some comments on the Android Market...

XSCode, I think I've found the problem. There's an error in computing the free space when it lies in the ranges 2Gb-4Gb, 6Gb-8Gb, 10Gb-12Gb, 14Gb-18Gb, etc. Unfortunately I've discovered the problem after releasing an update in the afternoon. Would be ok for you if I give you a non official...

    Birding Apps for Android

Well, at least it's one more piece of information. When an upgrade is installed, I think that some items in the Android configuration for that application are reset - so, probably they are involved with the issue.
