    Night whistler -- Can you identify? (audio attached)

    I live in upstate New York, and this summer I have heard a bird's soft whistle late at night. Pretty consistent on most nights. Attached is a re-creation of the sound. Can anyone identify the bird?

    Frequently on summer nights (in upstate New York), I've heard a bird's soft whistle in the woods. It consists of two quick notes (one low; one high) and is very hushed -- almost as if the bird is "sh"-ing in its throat. No audio file to submit as yet. Any thoughts?
