Very busy at the bird feeder today!

You dont have a mob of goldfinches, you have a charm. You have a mob of crows, or a murder of magpies, very appropriate.

Strategy for dealing with wandering dioptre.

.Once you set it up perfect make a small mark on the alighnment so reseting is easy. Also when set up, a wrap around with black 1/2" wide insulating tape will hold it there, and done neatly will be almost invisible.

Approaching comet may outshine the moon

Here in the UK we have not seen the sun for months, so no chance on a comet, 6months rain in last 3months, not good for birdwatching either.

    Welsh Woodland Feeding Station

If they look like "normal" people have a word with them, they may well join in your venture. Problem with moving the station will be that you will have to start from scratch, and it takes time for the birds to find and settle down on the feeders.

    £500 roof

Try before you buy-- is more appropriate for binoculars than any other product, as there are so many varyations, and nobody knows your own personal circumstances/ preferances. I recently tried a pair of £1000 Zeiss and found that my Meopta 7x40 were better than them at half the price--- in my...

    Compact eye modification.

The major draw back on compacts is that the small eye piece means you cant wedge it into your eye socket to hold it steady, makes it dificult to hold to the eye and near impossible to use one handed. So I decided to do some modifications to increase the size-- ordinary 0 rings work but are...
