Warham Greens - parking at Garden Drove

You are not `supposed` to park anywhere there, ie there is no designated parking. It is a working farm and at the moment there is no objection from the landowner to park as long as farm activity is not disrupted. The pad is used for pig food containers that require access 24/7. From what I have...

The amount of white in the tail makes it a Temminck

    Duck, Cley.

This Pochard type duck has been around Cley for a few days. I and others thought it was a Ferruginous/ Pochard hybrid, or something similar. Had not thought of female Rosybill which has now been suggested. (never even knew they looked like this) Any comments. John www.kellingnature.zenfolio.com

    Microadjustment.

I have found there is a huge difference between the Mk1 and Mk2 500mm canons when used with a 2X. With the Mk1, I sold my 2X it was useless, however with the Mk2 500mm and a Mk3 2X results are completely different. Using a 5D3 or a 1d4, I get good results, have tried it on the new 7d but run...

    Microadjustment.

That is very much what I do, as said on another thread, but I use a post with barbed wire. focus on the post and count the barbs in focus before and beyond the post and adjust accordingly.

Canon 7D Mk ii image quality - what am I doing wrong?

Not sure about that, I just thought that the lower the angle the less the change of angle when focusing beyond and in front of the point of focus. I tried various methods but the way I do it now produces good results and is quick.

dust in Canon 100 - 400 mark ii

Have had the mk2 for about 6mths, still when something suddenly appears try to pull the lens out instead of twisting. Mk2 a far better lens, if only they had kept the push-pull. Never had a dust problem in 10yrs with the mk1. John www.kellingnature.zenfolio.com

Canon 7D Mk ii image quality - what am I doing wrong?

I think with a sigma 150-600 he will have difficulty using a ruler 3m away. As I said on a previous thread, with long lens's, I park at 30degrees to a barbed wire fence, focus on a post at 30m away, take a few shots and count the barbs in focus in front of and behind the post. John...

    Canon 600 mm

If the bird has much foliage around it, try turning focus search (Cfn3.5) off. Also useful for stopping the 500 and 600mm zooming to infinity when trying to follow a bird in flight. John www.kellingnature.zenfolio.com

    Another yellow(ish) legged gull

This bird was at Wells Norfolk last week. Very slightly darker mantle than nearby Herrings. Its legs were washed yellow, not as yellow as YL Gull, the webs were slightly pinkish. The leg colour was very different to the nearby Herrings.

Canon 100-400 isii versus Canon 300 f2.8 isii

At 300mm the zoom is f5, at 310mm f5.6, so it is almost a 2 stop difference. John

Canon 100-400 isii versus Canon 300 f2.8 isii

I replaced my old 100-400mm a few months ago. Consider the mk2 sharper and IS far superior to the mk1 plus its close focus will be great once insects are out. In fact the Canon macro 100mm close focus is .3m whilst this lens at 400mm will focus down to .98m!! I still have the problem that in the...
