    Phone adapter opinion please

I've tried a bunch and I couldn't find anything that beat the Outdoorsman system for my needs. Love it.

    Why so little Maine information?

Just recently moved to eastermost Maine and I'm sorry to see so little activity here. From what I've seen so far, there is a great deal of birding opportunity in this area with a wide diversity of species. Are there just so few birders in the state?

Are Attwater Prairie Chickens accessible for the general public?

Best chance is on one of the scheduled monthly tours. They have started back. Call the refuge and ask if they have space. Generally 1st Saturday of the month at 8:00 a.m. If not the monthly tour, then you have to take your chances on the auto tour that is open to the public. Best chance...

    Lens advice please

I have owned the Tamron 150-600 gen 1 and gen 2 and my current 150-600 Sigma Contemporary is my favorite all-around bird lens. It is light and tack sharp.

Discount camera websites and resale sites?

Add another vote for mpb.com. I've ordered four items (two bodies and two lenses) from them over the years with nothing but good results. I've had to return one item because it wasn't what I thought it was but that was my fault and they didn't hesitate to allow the return and refund. I've had...

Lost eye cup for conquest HD

Zeiss USA has been equally responsive for me, providing extended eyecups at no cost (not even shipping) twice now after I purchased new Conquest HD's.

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 - oh my!

For what it's worth, I'm still 100% thrilled with my 8x32 Conquest HD's. They have performed perfectly in every way, under every situation since I purchased them. I recently returned from a trip where I was viewing through them on a window mount for hours on end, searching for wildlife. Zero...

    D500 and...

Don't overlook that Tamron. It's lighter than either of the other lenses, and if you're hand-holding all day, those ounces really add up. It's also reported to be sharper than the G1 version and I used the G1 Tamron for over 5 years and produced some of my all time favorite bird images with...

    Nikon 200-500mm tripod collar

I bought this one for my lens and I have zero complaints. I like it much better than the original lens collar. After buying it, I'm glad I didn't shell out for the Kirk. Oh, and it rotates smoothly for me...

Adapting 1.25" Astronomy Eyepieces to the Nikon ED50

I realize this is a very old thread now, but I wanted to provide an update with my experience using astronomy eyepieces on the ED50. First of all, I want to thank Bill for offering to send me two of the threaded barrel adapters so I could use astronomy eyepieces on my scope. I started out with...

    Where are meopros made?

Need some help settling a disagreement. Anyone know where Meopta's Meopro binoculars are made? Not where they are assembled, or a portion are made, but where the bulk of the binocular comes from. My bet is China. Others disagree.

    "Racism Is Killing the Planet"

I'm not so sure about that. It's a difficult argument to get most people to understand, but racism is at the root of nearly all the problems the human species has, and those problems lead to a lot of environmental degradation.

    "Racism Is Killing the Planet"

this. I've been hearing "save the planet" for my entire life. What they really mean is "save the planet AS WE KNOW IT!" Mono is absolutely right. "The planet" will fling us tiny organisms right off and keep on twirling, only to create new species and new ecosystems. Anyone who believes...

    A little Kamakura anecdote...

I fairly certain that the two pairs of Cabelas Outfitter HD's I owned, were Kamakura bins. Nearly identical in optical performance to my Conquest HD's, really.
