    A great Hobby!

Totally agree Emma, I found one boggling enough to watch zooming around! Sadly I've just read in the paper that there was a major fire on the Whixall reserve yesterday with 50 acres burned, a real shame. You read my mind there Pam, I nearly asked about them earlier. I'll look forward to the...

    Scotland visit

Yes I can imagine! I've heard them on a dvd I've got and the narrator describes them as being like a group of ladies gossiping! |=)|

    Strumpshaw Fen and Buckenham RSPB

Sounds (and looks) a beautiful place Matt. I don't think we went to either of those reserves. The bluebell wood and pic four in particular are gorgeous, looks so peaceful. The Harriers would have been my highlight I think, along with the Avocets. Always enjoy listening to Sedge Warblers too...

    Group Trip To Ynys Hir

An enjoyable read George, thank you! I spent a few days camping very close to Ynys Hir three years ago. Sadly this was before I was really interested in birds so I didn't notice anything! It does sound like a wonderful reserve. Our local group is going on a trip there soon and I'm considering...

    A great Hobby!

Well done in getting the pic Emma. They sure are fast aren't they! I saw one yesterday evening but was far too slow with the camera and camcorder. Hi Pam, Love the cygnet pics, I haven't seen any yet this year, nor any Ruddy Ducks. If you are ever in North Shrops in early May, Whixall/Fenns...

    Jay

Excellent clear pics Tony, the fourth is my favourite. Shame they tend to be so timid as they are smart birds and interesting to watch but I've found them impossible to get near. The only pics I have were taken from the car when two landed near to it once. Nice to see yours, well done.

    Spring Migrants Anyone?

I've seen Ring Ouzels, Pied Flycatchers, Redstarts and Yellow Wagtail in the last week and dozens of Wheatear several Swallows, Sand, House Martins and Chiffchaffs too. At a local reserve there are also Sedge, Reed and Willow Warblers, Dunlin, LR Plovers, Green and Common Sand, Terns passing...
