Alternative names and nicknames for Birds

Old names used in Berkshire in the thirties and forties (1930-40's that is!) Hedge Sparrow - Hedge Pop Wren - Bunglebarrel Nightingale - Stinging Nettle Creeper Also I would think a Rock Pipit should be a Rockit rather than a Rippit

What is your favourite bird of all time?

Can't believe that no one mentioned the Common Starling, the male in spring and summer is so striking with his glossy iridescant plumage and handsome yellow bill, plus they have such great character, and an even greater plus point is their wonderful ability to mimic. Try standing near a flock...

    Marsh Warblers at Leighton Moss

I have just purchased a Canon G3 and already have a Kowa 802, I cannot by any means afford an expensive adapter but I notice that If I hold the camera straight against the eyepiece of the scope it vignettes something chronic, is there a homemdae devive that would be suitable for this kit?
