    Small flock of these birds seen in SW Turkey, but no males! Pic one looks more like an Ortolan to me with it lacking any rusty red tones in the wing and rump. It also has quite a hefty looking beak. I think the left hand bird in pic two looks more like a Cretzschmar's with the white eye ring...

    Thank you all. I've found out that on a mature male, the blue pigment on top of the abdomen covers the yellow.

    The camera works throughout the whole range of focal lengths, however you have to zoom in to about 40mm (1/3 of the zoom) for vignetting to disappear at 25x on my eyepiece, and about 30mm (1/4 of the zoom) for it to disappear at 50x.     Thanks torview! Yes, when I tested them I didn't see any either. It's only really noticeable on high contrast objects. The camera does tend to show slightly more CA then is actually visible. Does anyone know what the final consensus is to whether the HTs have less CA then the other alphas?
