    New Celestron porros

Yeah, that 8x32 Ultima was pretty impressive, if a bit of rolling ball effect. The Yosemites and these others are fantastic handling characteristics. And if the prisms are chopped down a bit, so what!

    Swift Eaglet 7x36 825R or Leitz 7x35 ?

Im not poo pooing them, I just know what I like, and I dont like looking through a 50ish degree circle. Not that the binos arent useful or good quality images, or that smaller AFOV isnt desireable for some uses. It's just a personal preference, that I know I have.

    Swift Eaglet 7x36 825R or Leitz 7x35 ?

Eeeww! 49 degree FOV on the Swift Eaglet. Maybe Ill pass on these, and try one of the newer 7x36's.

    cheap 8x30 or 8x32s?

Well, you are certainly on the right path! My preference is for the 8x30 Yosemite over the 6x30, but I like a roomy eyepiece and dont care about edge sharpness. The extra power is welcome to. One more thing, these are featherweight and have fantastic handling characteristics, not too small...

Thanks everyone. Ill look in Japan for some. I was just overbid on one on eBay. Im interested in the 10x35E and EII and the 8x30E and E2 and the 7x35E and the 8x32SE. There is a pair of 12x50 SE on eBay right now....but too rich for my blood. I have a nice pair of 12x50 old Japanese...

Are 1960s & 70s glasses worth the money?

I think the deal was that they became quite popular at that price point and easing of cross iron curtain trade, and production couldnt keep up with demand, and hard Western currency was very desirable. So the Japanese were contracted to make them.

    Vintage binoculars, what is good?

Stellar made a terrific 8x25 regular porro - ksbird foxranch I tried bidding on one of these, but it went for good money, like $80. But looked really interesting. Ive also seen a Stellar 9x35 that looked interesting, but didnt bid on it. Another name that Ive seen good glass in is Yamatar...

Are 1960s & 70s glasses worth the money?

Ill 3rd the Neptune. However, not while denigrating the 7x35 B&L. I dont like the 7 degree 7x35s in general though. The extra degree is pleasing, without getting into the distortions of the wide angle 7x35s.
