    Scilly October 2014

When we reserved our Little Porth digs again in January, the weather was so bad it seemed touch and go if it would still be standing in October. We are assured it is.

    Another Garden Moth, Shrewsbury

Hello again all. Had this in the garden Friday morning - can anyone give me a quick summary of the key differences between Lychis and The Campion? I'm leaning towards the latter but happy to be corrected. Thanks! Patrick

Very many thanks - what is the status of Small Ranunculus? Book suggests not a regular moth. Thanks, Patrick

    Shropshire Birding

Walked from Bridges up onto the Long Mynd and back down again today - shame it was so damned cold but saw Cuckoo, pair of Dippers, 6+ each of Common Redstart, Pied Flycatcher and Willow Warbler on territory and Curlew calling in the fields. Seems to be more Lesser Black-backed Gulls around...

5 Swifts around the house at Coton Hill this evening. Unfortunately looks like the Beeater has moved on - no further reports this afternoon. Patrick

Hello All! A spectacular garden tick for us this afternoon when a Ring-necked Parakeet arrived to feed on the peanut holder. Keep an eye out in the Coton Hill area! Photos to follow. Patrick
