    First impressions Canon 10x32 IS

My10x32 IS weighs 883 gram including batteries, neck strap, bino bandit and 2 pieces of inner tube. That is just a little more than the 12x36 that weigh 764 grams including strap, batteries, eye cup cover and additional duct tape ;). To me there is not much difference between the 2 as far...

    First impressions Canon 10x32 IS

Yes Sancho it’s realy been 12 years ago that I bought the Canon 12x36 II. When I told the wife it was about 12 years ago I decided to look it up and then I found this post. https://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?p=1023763#post1023763 After that the canons were my main pair. I’ve bought...

    First impressions Canon 10x32 IS

The tie wraps don't work so well. Or maybe I just did not tighten enough. I've come up with a new modification. This time I use bicycle inner tube to hold the eye cups in a folded position. If you cut the inner tube wide enough it will also prevent the diopter from moving. So far so good.

    First impressions Canon 10x32 IS

I’ve been away from this forum for many years. Main reason was that I got the binoculars I wanted and had not much to desire. My main bins for the last 12 years were the canon 12x36 II (good advice Sancho). I’ve also got a pair of Hawke 8x43 frontier ED for rainy days. Also a Nikon 8x32 SE...

    Mecklenburg-Vorpommern birdwatching spots wanted

Thanks again Dieter The bad news is that I will not be going there this week. The good news is that I have planned this for may so I will have to be patient ;) Our main goal is cycling but we have not decided on the routes yet. If we can pick some good birding spots on the way it would really...

    Mecklenburg-Vorpommern birdwatching spots wanted

Thanks a lot Dieter I found all locations you mentioned. We have not yet booked a hotel/B&B so we are still sure from where we will be making our daydrips. If it's going to be Neustrelitz then I am afraid the Eble tour will be a bit to far for a one day bicycle trip. Heiligen Hallen on the...

    Mecklenburg-Vorpommern birdwatching spots wanted

Next week I will be going to this area. We will probably stay in Neustrelitz and have daytrips by bicycle of around 150 KM (from Neustrelitz and back) Anyone have any recomandations for good spots? We will be using satnav equipment so exact coordinates will be much appreciated. (e.g. using...

looking or replacement for Canon A95

Thanks Gene for the very detailed description. I was hoping that just the tubeadaper and maybe 1 step-up ring would do the trick but it seems a bit more complicated then that. I think that the safest way for me to go is to buy a second hand A95. That way I know what I get and do not have to...

looking or replacement for Canon A95

Thanks Gene This may be my next camera. I have a few questions. The adapter I need must be able to hold a 52mm filter (so that the outer diameter is about 55mm and fits my setup. As I understand I may need a stepup ring to attach the adapter tot the camera.. What step up ring do I need? What...

looking or replacement for Canon A95

My Canon A95 digiscoping camera is broken. I am now looking for a new camera. I was very happy with the A95 because it can be fitted with a filter adapter. This filter adapter is important for my digiscoping setup. Please see this thread to see how my setup works...

    Binos on Bikes

I agree with Kevin. I wouldn't worry much about this either as long if the bins are padded or wrapped in a sweater or towel. My bins and scope have taken quite a few bumpy roads but no problem so far. There is an interesting thread about carrying gear on a bike on this forum...
