Thank you very much for the recommendation. We had a pair of Stone Curlew in the field opposite the School. We tend to walk to the Boquer through the avenue of pines so have only ever looked at that end of the field but today we walked to the other end and saw them 😊. Many thanks, Rach

Brilliant, thank you. We'll check those out. I always look from the Finca but have never managed to pick them out. Maybe I just need more patience! We go home on Friday morning unfortunately. Hopefully we'll get a few more species before we go home.

    Mallorca 2024

A walk this morning along C'an Cuarassa gave us 2 Spotless Starlings on the roof of the "Pins 16" Villa which eventually flew out of sight behind the trees, next to the Villa on the opposite side of the road. Also along the track we had Kestrels, lots of Stonechats, a single Whinchat, 1 female...

Yes, I've had some good fun birds seen. I was lucky enough to grow up in Norfolk during the 80s and 90s so didn't travel too far for a lot of them. I still get tempted by the nearer birds but my days of trekking across the country are over. Rach

    Mallorca 2024

Been here since Friday afternoon and the weather hasn't been as we'd hoped for, especially today. We are here for birds and relaxation so we aren't venturing far from Puerto Pollensa. We had a couple of walks around La Gola which seems extremely quiet. One Nightingale singing at the back near...

Very nice bird indeed. It's sad that the few spoil it for everyone. I certainly don't 'twitch' as much as I used to and if I do, I'll walk away if the bird is being put under pressure from people. Such a shame as it tars everyone with the same brush.

    Mallorca 2024

Hi all. We are back again on the 14th for a week for our annual pilgrimage. Have been reading the forum with interest and it is definitely whetting my appetite. We are staying at the southern end of Puerto Pollensa this year for a change and have been looking at what is within walking...

Short walk along the Boquer to just beyond the terrace before it got too hot. Lots of Redstart, Stonechat, Pied and Balearic Flycathcher and 1 Whinchat just below the terrace. 2 Crossbill flew up the Valley and a few Hoopoe were flying around. Also 1 Willow Warbler on the walk up.

    Mallorca 2023

Had a good walk along the Boquer Valley today. Had a beautiful male Blue Rock Thrush just through the second gate to the valley. Nice to look down on one rather that up for a change. Also there we heard Stone Curlews but didn't see them and also saw distant male Redstart. A few Crag Martins and...
