ID by call? (Galveston area, Texas)

Last week I heard a call that I had not heard before and I have been unable to identify the bird that made it. The call came from the top of the live oak at the back of my yard. I couldn't see the bird while it was in the tree but it made this call five or six times before a bird in that tree...

    Immature Rufous Female?

Thank you for both of your responses. I live in far southeast Texas, just north of Galveston. I have read that the Rufous, although not common, is not a rare bird to see here, and that the Broad-tailed would be more unlikely to be this far across the state. New Mexico - Three In Hand

I wrote to my mom and asked her to explain, given the evidence, and this is her response: "I was just kidding but you took it so serious, I just let it go. I can't even get a picture of the hummers in my own yard. Sorry!!!" I'm sorry too. My apologies to all of you.

The day she took the photo, she just happened to have the camera with her as there had been a peacock in the their yard the day before and she was hoping to get another photo of it. Then her neighbor said "look at this" and my mom...

New Mexico - Three In Hand

Thank you for your response. My mother took this photo last year in her yard. The hands belong to her neighbor, who was refilling her feeder. I thought he might be a ruby-throated too, but I've never seen such a dark breast as on this male. And I thought ruby-throateds didn't go that far west. I...

New Mexico - Three In Hand

I posted this message several days ago in the ID Thread but have not had any response so I thought I would post it here. I'm having a hard time identifying these three. The photo was taken in the Las Cruces area of New Mexico in early July. Three In Hand Thanks in advance.
