    What's happened to the hide???

I've not been down Teeside way for a while until last week when I noticed the Screen/Hide overlooking the Seals at Greatham Creek was gone and the path looked dug up:eek!:. Are there alternate plans on the go or is it back to the bad old days of walking along a busy road and looking from the...

    Sparrowhawk hunting.

Yesterday I saw two Sparrowhawks circling above a group of mature trees in a village garden. Then one of them swooped down and flew around the outskirts of the trees and the other flew into the trees, flushing half a dozen Woodpigeons out. The one that flew around the trees then grabbed one of...

    How to photograph swallows

If you know where they are nesting you could watch for the young fledging. They will often sometimes perch somewhere and wait for the adults to feed them and you could try and catch them then. Or watch near a nest sight and if there is a handy perch nearby the adult can use them as a lookout...

Sad find in the garden this morning

Very sad. We had one hit our window along with the young goldfinch it was chasing a couple of years ago, thankfully they both recovered after a few minutes in my hand and flew off.

Quite a few Little Egret, Brent Geese, Cormorant, Shag, Curlew, Redshank, Distant Godwits (not sure if Black...

    First visit to east Norfolk.

Next week we've booked a cottage in Happisburgh but I have no idea what the area is like. I usually have one day to myself to go birding and was thinking of having a drive down to Minsmere and Dunwich Heath looking for Dartford Warblers, Marsh Harriers and possibly Bittern but are there any...
