    I'm interested in how you can tell how big it is from a photograph to say it's a Glaucous Gull, (there is nothing in the picture to compare it too) size is not really ever an accurate way of seperating these species as there is variation between sexes of each species with the largest Iceland...

    1st winter Iceland gull. Don't look to closely at plumage, concentrate on the structure, the head is rounded and kind looking, the bill is fairly small, and not obviously two tone, the primary projection is long but may look shorter than it should due to the way it is facing.
