    Gitzo GHF2W compatible long plate

I'm after a long plate to mount my Kowa 883 on. Having seen the price of the Gitzo one I'm hoping someone has found a suitable generic one at a more budget friendly price? Thanks in advance

Thermal "spotting scopes" - the experience thread

Thanks for the reply. I don't know anything about Arca-Swiss, levelling units etc how long is the mounting rail?

Thermal "spotting scopes" - the experience thread

What accessories have you used to mount your Thermal side by side with your scope please? I also use a Kowa 883 and would really like to mount my Thermal next to it.

    Podlights

I assume in that case the difference between 395nm and 365nm isn't that much in reality?

    Podlights

Had a reply, as follows. There are 3 pairs of leds. Each pair is centred on the wavelengths of 395, 440, 525 nm for UV, blue, and green respectively. Thoughts?

    Podlights

Excellent I was hoping someone who actually had one would reply! Would it work suspended over a Skinner trap, or is it best set up with one of the pop up style traps in your pic? Is it weatherproof or would it need protecting from rain? Would you be able to answer the question regarding the...

    Podlights

I emailed them to ask, apparently the power output is approximately 3.5w. The 3w LEDs draw 350mA approx it appears to use 2 each of UV, Blue and Green LEDs 👍🏻

    Podlights

I'd love a lepiLED I've not used LEDs before but the design and portability of it are really interesting, I just can't afford one. I don't have the skills to make something similar myself, I've seen people on Facebook groups that have done, the LEDs themselves are very cheap it's the casing and...

    Podlights

Have been moth trapping for a few years now and I'm always looking for different setups, especially if they are lightweight and portable to make life easier when I take my trap on holiday. I've looked at lepiLED but really can't justify the cost (upwards of £360) Podlights seem to be a cheaper...

    May Day Farm

That's interesting. I'd love to see a Glowworm, would be a first for me!

    May Day Farm

That's brilliant thanks so much, wish we had had more time to explore we didn't go past the first set of crossroads. Will definitely be back in the future though we really liked it, we always stay in Brandon so it's a perfect place to spend a couple of hours (hopefully when it's not raining next...

    May Day Farm

Interesting. I've attached 2 pics taken at the crossroads just along the main track from the radio mast, whereabouts is that pool in relation to these please?

    May Day Farm

Yeah the locations have been a bit confusing for anyone that haven't been to it before. I could see that some of the recent photos were from screen 2 but couldn't find the pool at the crossroads from the main track (just the 3 pools in front of screen one). Presumably the birds have moved on now...

    May Day Farm

Hi, Apologies for bumping an old thread but seeing as my question relates to this location I didn't think it was right to create an entirely new post. I've visited Mayday Farm this morning (in albeit not great weather) but struggled to find the well hidden pool. We walked past the Radio mast...

    Choseley

Apologies for bumping an old thread. I was at Choseley on Monday and other than Red-legged Partridge we saw very little. Bumped into a couple of birders on the way back to our car who told us the barns were sanitised 3 years ago and Yellowhammer, Corn Bunting and Little Owl have pretty much not...
