    Aqualate today...Bittern seen in the reeds to right of hide 11.00-11.30 then moved away. Also Gadwall, Teal, Goldeneye, Widgeon, Pochard, Tufted, Little Grebe x2, Gt Crested Grebe x4, 2 Marsh Tit on feeder......and 1 Hare

    Aqualate today quiet exept for a Mink round the hide looking for a quick lunch. On the way back to A41 about 1km before the island 2 Egyptian Geese feeding in a field on the left.

    Compact advice

    I have the Opticron ES 80 ED with both SDL Zoom and HDF 30x eye piece. Could anyone advise please on a compact camera suitable for the scope. My preference would be Panasonic but realy need advice from experienced digiscopers.

    Thanks for the directions everyone. Got there today for my first Crossbill about 50m below 151, there is a large pine tree at the back of the Alders, they were using that for cover, enjoyed the walk too. I,d give my right arm to be a pianist....Sir Bobby Robson

    You might try Aqualate Mere, Bittern showing well there for a couple of weeks now.
