    Lighting Advice?

    Looks like you are dealing with low light and perhaps some rain or fog. I especially like the sleepy fledglings with their remnant down. The heron is posed quite nicely as well----

    Zapata It is not closer, but Zapata has some nice options. One, non-chain, that comes to mind is the Seedeater Inn, it is not only appealing and historic but the owners are very birder-friendly. In RGV I find the travel very easy and usually try to stay at a preferred spot and just zip down...

    Very nice. The Striated Swallow is particularly striking and appears to be large and hungry!
