    Advantages and disadvantages of digiscoping.

OK, I believe I understand it this time :) If I have crop camera like EOS 50d and FF camera like EOS 5D and if I put 500 mm lens on both of them then I get larger image on 5D. Then I can crop image to 15mpix and get roughly same image hipoteticaly. But, if I have crop camera like Nikon D300...

    Advantages and disadvantages of digiscoping.

I understand that, you get virtually bigger bird on smaller sensor - so if you have Nikon D700 with 12mpix and crop camera with 12mpix?!

    Need some definitive answers

I think video heads are the best for digiscoping setup - quick and easy handling. What digiscopers use most is Manfrotto 501HDV video head as RJM suggested. I'm using smaller and lighter version of this head which is Manfrotto 701 HDV. As I want light setup I also use Velbon Sherpa 645 carbon...

    Advantages and disadvantages of digiscoping.

That is why digiscoping is still very interisting and widely used. If you start from scratch digiscoping setup costs "only" about 3,000 EUR - and that is top digiscoping setup.

    Advantages and disadvantages of digiscoping.

If you have crop camera and Canon or Nikon 600mm lens and you add in 2x and 1,5x teleconverters you get 1.6 x 600 x 2 x 1.5 = 2880 mm - no autofocus - use of tripod - very bad aperture In this range digiscoping is better, but if you go only to about 1000mm (600mm lens with crop camera and...

    Digiscoping settings for P6000

Green macro mode works for me best too. I hardly use any other option - ass Bill said, none of the options won't eliminate scope focusing.

    Hoodman or other?

I'm reading same excelent reviews about hoodman loupe magnifier so naturally I have few questions. Well, only one :D - do you use hoodman only in manual focus mode? Beacuse I don't see any advantages in autofocus mode - camera don't relly on LCD screen for focusing. So I'm wondering how do you...

Panasonic Lumix G1 at last - what a gem for digiscoping

I had little pratice today at bird feeder. Not enough time to stay long, so only one of few keepers. It is very hard to manual focus and get spot on sharpnes. Luckily G1 have nice zoom for focusing. Kowa Prominar TSN-883 + Kowa TSN-PZ + Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 + cable remote Little sharpening...

    Digiscoping settings for P6000

I forgot about exposure - Bosque Bill is right -I usually underexpose too. Usually -0.3 to -0.7 but sometimes as much as -1.3 in harsh light or if I want special effect like silhouette. @Bosque Bill - very nice images at your webpage. Do you use Hoodman HoodLoupe 3.0 only for manual focus?
