    Frisco, Little Elm, and Plano in Fall and Winter

    I have just started researching this myself. Two fairly local spots seem to be Hagerman wildlife refuge, north of Frisco and Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary. Maybe see you out there!

    Cabela's in Allen or Fort Worth have great selection and hands on.

    Missing Birds in Rockwall

    Couple of things. Until recently it had been fairly warm, accounting for a lot of natural food supply. Secondly, and more disconcerting, they sprayed for mosquitoes an awful lot thus summer.
