Male

  • Pale grey head and upper breast
  • Green upperparts
  • Yellowish-green underparts
  • Black underwing coverts

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 2 subspecies[1]:

  • A. c. canus:
  • Western and eastern Madagascar (except range of ablectaneus)
  • A. c. ablectaneus:

Habitat

Spiny forests and forest edges, clearings; wooded savanna and scrub.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of fruit and grass seeds. Flocks have been observed feeding on flowers.
