Male:

  • Bright yellow cheeks, underparts, crown and rump
  • Greenish tail, wings, back, and nape
  • Black mask, which extends from the eye to the base of the bill
  • Long notched tail
  • Short, blue bill
  • The lower mandible is bent to one side

The female is less colourful
