Charcoal grey with white underparts.

Andaman Islands east through Indonesia and northern Australia.

Nine subspecies are recognized[1]: pelewensis, leucorhynchus, amydrus, humei, albiventer, musschenbroeki, leucopygialis, melaleucus, and tenuis.

Common, from open country to clearings at forest edge up to 1800 m

The diet includes insects caught on the wing.

3 eggs are laid.
