Comoros, Madagascar, and Mayotte.

[edit] Subspecies^[1]

3 subspecies recognized:

• C. c. cinera in northern and eastern Madagascar
• C. c. pallida in central, western and south-western Madagascar
• C. c. cucullata on the Comoro Islands

Cucullata is sometimes split as Comoros Cuckoo-shrike, Coracina cucullata.

The birds from Moheli Island are sometimes put in the subspecies moheliensis which is not accepted by everyone^[2].
