• Yellow forehead, crown and underparts
• Black face and bib, more marked in breeding male
• Back and wings heavily marked with brown streaks

South-east Asia: found in Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sumatra, Java

They build a dome-shaped nests made from woven grass, in reeds or grasses beside fresh water lakes and ponds.
