Identification

14cm
Bright orange bill
Male

  • Light blue crown
  • Slate-blue upperparts
  • White underparts
  • Deep chestnut chin and throat
  • Broad white tips ( c. 50 % ) to the underside of the tail

Female

  • Brown above
  • Grey cheeks
  • Blue crown

Distribution

Fiji (montane forests of Taveuni).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly considered conspecific with Chestnut-throated Flycatcher.

Habitat

Moist montanes and lowland forest.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes insects.
