This battery pack provides a vertical shutter release button which is handy for portrait shots, the ability to be able to select autofocus points(vertical)is also good.Where this unit really excells is it takes two batteries doubling battery life as it draws power from both batteries. Also provided is a tripod screw & camera strap mounting point. The only negative point for me is that the thumbwheel retaining screw can sometimes work loose(only a minor niggle).

[edit] Pros

  • Vertical shutter release button/Longer battery life.

[edit] Cons

  • Retaining screw can work loose.

I use it with the 10D. The two batteries it takes give you a full days shooting with ease. It is especially nice for people who have big hands, otherwise it feels as though your camera is too small when coupled to a hefty telephoto. It just seems to add balance all round and I never take it off the 10D. A cannot do without accessory for this camera.

[edit] Pros

  • Very effective and useful

[edit] Cons

  • None
