  • Upperparts and cap are a dark bluish-green
  • Steel-blue wings
  • White chin, throat and underparts
  • Deeply forked tail

Diet

The diet includes insects.

Breeding

They nest in old woodpecker holes using pine needles, she-oak twigs, and grass to make the nest, lined with feathers. Three eggs are laid and incubated for 15 days; the fledging period is roughly 22 days.
