Yellowish-buff above heavily barred with black, throat white, front and sides of neck and breast pale grey, belly white, flanks cream barred with black. Head and neck bright chestnut. Female paler on back. Legs olive-green. Length 25cm.

Eastern Colombia and southern Venezuela. Resident.
