• South-eastern New Guinea and north-eastern Australia (Cape York Peninsula to northern [[New South Wales)

• Aru Islands

• South-western Western Australia north and east to north-western Queensland

• L. i. melvillensis:

• Melville and Bathurst Islands (Northern Territory)

Open woodland near water, mangroves, heathland, and urban gardens.

[edit] Diet

The diet includes nectar and insects.

The female builds a cup shaped nest from bark, grass and down. The female incubates the eggs, and both sexes feed the young.

[edit] Vocalisation

Has a lound strident call.
