43 cm. Dull brown plumage, grey upperparts, chestnut breast, pink naked face. Male - small red comb and three pendulous red wattles.

The species is endemic to the island of Waigeo off of Indonesian West Papua.

Monotypic.

Mountain forests above 620 m.

The male builds a mound to incubate the eggs.
