Genus: Androphobus
[edit] Description
This genus contains only one species, the Papuan Whipbird, a poorly known species from New Guinea.
[edit] Taxonomy
Androphobus is a genus in the family Eupetidae.
The species is poorly studied but similarities in plumage to the Whipbirds suggest a relationship with them.
Has been placed within the Bush-warblers in the past due to its similarity with the Friendly Bush-Warbler.
If the family Eupetidae would be split on family level this genus would be placed in Psophodidae.
