Hydropsalis is a genus in the family Caprimulgidae. A proposal for the SACC wants to make this a much larger genus by adding all members of genera Uropsalis, Eleothreptus, Nyctidromus, Macropsalis, Nyctiprogne, Lurocalis, and seven species from Caprimulgus (White-tailed Nightjar, Spot-tailed Nightjar, Band-winged Nightjar, Roraiman Nightjar, Little Nightjar, Scrub Nightjar, and Blackish Nightjar).
