Meliphagidae is a family in the Order Passeriformes.
The Opus follows Clements for families which is slightly outdated here. New research has shown that the Bonin Honeyeater is not a Honeyeater at all but a White-eye and should be placed within the Zosteropidae.
The so-called Hawaiian Honeyeaters (Moho and Chaetoptila) should be placed in their own family. Macgregor's Honeyeater was long believed to be a Bird-of-paradise, but is now known to belong to this family.
