At less than 50km by 20km Menorca is smaller than Mallorca with a generally flatter and more cultivated landscape. Although is receives far fewer visitors than its larger neighbour, there is a good tourist infra-structure with plenty of hotel and self-catering accommodation and frequent and regular flights. Car-hire is easy and relatively cheap and the island is small enough to be covered from any of the resort areas. In any case most of the popular areas are within easy reach of a good birding site.
