Genus: Ploceus

This genus contains the largest number of weavers (about 63 species), and members are found in both Africa and Asia. The common name of these birds refer to the nest, which in most species is an elaborate structure, weaved together from plant material.

Ploceus is a genus in the family Ploceidae.
Compact Weaver is sometimes placed in Pachyphantes.
