From Opus

Genus: Pygochelidon

[edit] Description

The current species in this genus (Blue-and-white Swallow) has a moderately forked tail and dark vent area, and is otherwise mostly white on underside and dark blue on upperside. The proposed addition to this genus (see below) shares these features, except that the tail is strongly forked.

[edit] Taxonomy

Pygochelidon is a monotypic genus in the family Hirundinidae. A recently passed proposal in the SACC will add Black-collared Swallow to this genus, taking that species out of genus Atticora. Opus is awaiting the position of the world-wide checklists.
