Genus: Pyrilia
Description
Medium sized parrots with short tail and wings
Taxonomy
Pyrilia is a genus in the Family Psittacidae.
It was formerly included in the genus Pionopsitta, however recent research showed that these species differ significantly from Pileated Parrot (to remain in Pionopsitta) and proposed to use genus Gypopsitta but the SACC thinks that Pyrilia takes precedent.
