North-western Colombia and eastern Panama. Range does not overlap any other Bush-Tanager1.

[edit] Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species2 which in the past has been treated as a subspecies of Common Bush Tanager or of Yellow-throated Bush Tanager3.

Moist montanes, especially elfin forest.

Forages mostly in lower levels of vegetation.
