Male: totally slate grey
Female

  • Lighter grey
  • Rufous belly

South America: found ind Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.

There are 5 subspecies[1]:

  • T. c. glaucus:
  • T. c. persimilis:
  • Central Brazil south of the River Amazon and extreme north-eastern Bolivia
  • T. c. simillimus:
  • South-central Amazonian Brazil along middle River Purús
  • T. c. hoffmannsi:
  • East-central Brazil south of the Amazon (River Tapajós to northern Maranhão, north-eastern Mato Grosso)
  • T. c. caesius:
  • Coastal eastern Brazil (Pernambuco Rio de Janeiro, inland to Minas Gerais)

An additional subspecies simillimus is generally considered invalid[2].

Monogamous.

Both adults incubate the 2 eggs and care for the young.
