[edit] IdentificationLength 35cm, with huge (6.5-7.5cm) bill typical of toucan family. Brilliant green overall colour, with bands of blue on underside. Bill dark reddish-brown with white ring around base. Rump is scarlet red. [edit] DistributionColombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Its naturally Common on western slope of Andes between 500m. and 2000m. in elevation. [edit] TaxonomyThere are 2 subspecies. [edit] HabitatCanopy and borders of foothill and subtropical forest, woodlands, and clearings. [edit] BehaviourTame and tolerant of disturbance.
