Smallish to mid-sized arboreal passerines with strong, mid-length, slightly hooked bill, prominent rictal bristles, slender body, long pointed wings, short legs, strong feet and long forked tail. Most species have black, patchily iridescent plumage. They are found in Africa, Asia and Australia.
