South America: found in Colombia through Venezuela to the Guianas and Brazil, and additionally south through Ecuador and Peru to Bolivia (and also Brazil).

Saturnine Antshrike has been split from Dusky-throated Antshrike.

[edit] Subspecies

Two subspecies are recognized^[1]:

• T. a. ardesiacus:

• South-eastern Colombia to eastern Peru, north-eastern Bolivia and adjacent Brazil (south-eastern Acre)

• T. a. obidensis:

• Eastern Colombia to eastern Venezuela, the Guianas and northern Amazonian Brazil
