South America: found in Colombia through Venezuela to the Guianas and Brazil, and additionally south through Ecuador and Peru to Bolivia (and also Brazil).

Saturnine Antshrike has been split from Dusky-throated Antshrike.

[edit] Subspecies

Two subspecies are recognized[1]:

  • T. a. ardesiacus:
  • T. a. obidensis:
  • Eastern Colombia to eastern Venezuela, the Guianas and northern Amazonian Brazil

Lowland damp forests.
