[edit] OverviewA small lake with extensive surrounding marshland and reedbeds, over 100 species are known to have bred and many others have been recorded in the immediate area. [edit] Birds[edit] Notable SpeciesAmong the breeders are Black-necked Grebe and Purple Heron, both bitterns and White Stork. Garganey, Gadwall, Water Rail and Spotted Crake and Little Crake are found in the reedbeds. Raptors breeding in the area include Western Honey Buzzard, both kites, Western Marsh Harrier and Northern Hobby, and in the surrounding woodlands are Black Woodpecker and Black Grouse. Numerous wetland and woodland passerines breed. Waders, waterfowl and Black Tern occur on passage.
