- M. f. viridifrons:
- Bismarck Archipelago (New Hanover, New Ireland and Lihir Group)
- M. f. nanina:
- Solomon Islands (Bougainville, Choiseul and Santa Isabel)
- M. f. tristrami:
- Vella Lavella, Kulambangra, Rendova and adj. Solomon Islands
- M. f. aolae:
- East-central Solomon Islands (Russel Is., Guadalcanal and Malaita)
- M. f. finschii:
- South-eastern Solomon Islands (Ugi, San Cristóbal and Rennell)
