There are 2 subspecies^[1]:

• Z. g. galapagoensis :

• Drier parts of Galapagos Islands (except range of exsul)

• Z. g. exsul:

• Galapagos Islands (Culpepper and Wenman)

Habitat

Ground shrub, open ground, dry open woodland and along the shore.
